About Cortes Translations Inc.

Francisco J. Cortes is the founder of Cortes Translations Inc., a Charlotte-based organization that provides Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish translating and interpreting services in diverse fields to individuals and corporations of all sizes.

A native of Mexico, Francisco’s mission is to remove language and cultural barriers to successful business ventures and enhance understanding and appreciation for all Hispanic cultures. Francisco graduated from the University of Guadalajara School of Law in 1983 and obtained his Attorney’s Patent the same year. In 1985, he attended the UCSD at La Joya, CA to study English as a second language and to pursue an engineering degree as an international student.

After earning his BSEET from DeVRY Institute of Technology in Phoenix, AZ Francisco was hired by a large mainframe computer company in Sunnyvale, CA, which is located in the Silicon Valley area. Later, he worked for a German-based company in San Jose, CA.

In 1990 Francisco joined Delco Electronics Corporation, a General Motors/Hughes Electronics subsidiary, where he worked in different engineering assignments. His responsibilities included translating and interpreting from English to Spanish, and vice versa, supporting operations in North America, South America, and Asia. Francisco relocated to Charlotte, NC in 2002 and founded Cortes Translations Inc.
